As a world-class research institution, the University of Minnesota Medical School is deeply committed to innovation across the continuum of medical education - we aim to be a “Learning Medical School.” In order to support educators to develop, deliver, and evaluate their educational practices and innovation, the Medical Education Outcomes Center (MEOC) offers a wide range of collaborative services and opportunities for expert consultation. From idea generation and project design to data acquisition, analysis and dissemination, we support innovation in medical education.
In the Fall of 2019, MEOC was awarded a three-year $750K grant from the MHealth Fairview and University of Minnesota Medical School’s Academic Investment Education Program. This project seeks to further develop MEOC into a world-class resource that will serve as a transformational catalyst for creating an education-focused Learning Health System (LHS) that aims to continually learn and improve based on the data generated during our educational and clinical programs.
As we continue to grow and expand research and innovation service offerings, medical education research and scholarship projects are currently taken on and triaged on a case-by-case basis. Keep an eye on this space – we will be adding research-related resources here to support all stages of health professions education research.
